Cancer is a serious disease. Many times people do not know about this disease in the beginning and then when they come to know, the cancer cells have spread a lot. Many major diseases are detected by blood test but other treatments also had to be taken for cancer. But now cervical cancer can be detected even with just a blood test. This is the claim of new research.
There are many types of cancer. The treatment and recovery time of all may vary. Cervical cancer is also a serious type of cancer. This cancer occurs more in women. According to health reports, this is the second biggest cause of cancer in women. Every year about 80,000 women lose their lives due to this disease. But now a relief news has come about this cancer, which women must know. Cervical cancer also spreads again in the body. According to new health research, the symptoms of cancer and re-spreading can be easily checked from blood samples. In this research, it was found that HPV cells free DNA are present in the blood, which tells whether there is a disease or not. This research was done by the doctors of Cancer Center Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital of AIIMS. Let us know about this in detail.
What does the research say?
In a study by the doctors of Cancer Center Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital of Delhi AIIMS, it has been told that this research has also been published in the Scientific Research of the International Medical Journal Nature. The doctors who conducted this study believe that with the help of this technique, the disease can be confirmed quickly and easily in cancer patients. Earlier, Pap smear testing was used to check cervical cancer, which is much more difficult in comparison to this.
What do doctors believe?
The doctors involved in the research have claimed many other things, in which they say that after taking the blood sample, some fragments of cancer cells remain, due to which MRD can be easily identified. Whereas it is more effective in Pap smear test. Regarding this, Dr. Mayank Singh, Associate Professor of Medical Oncology, IRCH, says that patients used to go to OPD for Pap smear testing, where female patients had to give samples from their genitals. On the other hand, patients get more convenience with the help of blood samples.
Prevention of recurrent cancer
Dr Mayank says that cancer can become active again some time after it is cured. For this, he had to take the help of his follow-up treatment. It used to take 3 to 6 months for follow-up checkup and CT scan or abdominal scan had to be done. After research, now there will be a facility of liquid biopsy i.e. blood test to check for recurrent cancer. However, till now its testing is going on in people and women of many countries of the world, but this testing has not been done on anyone in India yet.
What is Liquid Biopsy?
Liquid biopsy is a modern and less invasive testing method, which is used for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of cancer. In this, signs of cancer present in the body are detected from blood, urine or other body fluids.
